In an effort to reduce the number of pets destroyed at city shelters when owners cannot be located, Volunteer Services to Animals is distributing free identification tags for cats and dogs.

To date, Project IDEA (Identify Every Animal) has mailed more than 1,000 tags. Tags may be obtained by sending a stamped, self-addressed envelope to Volunteer Services to Animals, 13131
