John Montrella of Rancho Santiago scored on a two-point shot to tie the score at the end of regulation and the Dons went on to defeat Chaffey, 18-15, in overtime in a nonconference water
polo game Tuesday in Santa Ana. Montrella’s shot, from beyond seven meters, was his only score of the game. Jeremy Yorba, Josh Routon and John Thonn each scored for Rancho Santiago (9-0-1)
in overtime. Yorba led Rancho Santiago with eight goals. In other nonconference water polo: Orange Coast 23, Rio Hondo 16--Ryan Mulholland scored eight goals and Shad Wicker had five for
host Orange Coast (8-3), which led, 11-5, at the half. In nonconference men’s soccer: Orange Coast 2, Moorpark 2--Orange Coast tied despite playing without goalie Eric Mifflin, who had the
flu. Billy Rimmer played goalie for the second time in his career and recorded six saves. Orange Coast had 16 shots on goal but Moorpark goalie Chad Rizer came up with 14 saves to preserve
