Owners of a condominium complex that was flooded during the heavy storms of 1992 have been awarded $377,000 from the city. A Superior Court jury in Long Beach found that the city allowed a

nuisance to exist, resulting in the flooding at the Orangewood Village complex in the 6600 block of Orange Avenue. Garages in the complex were engulfed in up to eight feet of water in

December, 1992, when a nearby pumping station failed to keep up with the deluge. The Orangewood homeowners’ association had asked for as much as $3.5 million in damages to cars and other
