RE “Old-World Idyll in Altadena” [Sept. 21]: My grandmother lived at 2272 Norwic Place, on the east side of the well. My mother grew up in the house, which I remember fondly from my
childhood. Mom says that the current owners painted the timbers blue (the vandals!) but the house is still charming. My mother does not have e-mail but when I spoke with her she was eager to
share with you the fact that a famous author of children’s books, Grace Moon, had lived there at one time. She wrote books about Native American children. Moon sold the house to a Mrs.
Purdy, who sold it to my grandparents, Henry and Margaret Smith, during the 1930s. What fun, also, to hear that Glenn Leisure lives on the street. He is one of triplets with whom I went to
