What happened to the Calendar section? I’ve been a daily reader of the L.A. Times for 25 years, always waking up Sunday morning to read the latest record reviews, commentary, whatever the

Calendar section had to offer. While I love Ann Powers’ articles, and I’m officially over the Sunday Calendar format change, I’m annoyed. On Dec. 7, I woke up, saved the Arts and Books

section to read over breakfast, and what, just an article about the Conga Room at L.A. Live? No record reviews, Pop Matters, nothing? Really, the pop music coverage of The Times is

nonexistent. The concert reviews are few and far between, the new album reviews are rare and, basically, the coverage is nil. It’s really disappointing for a music fan in Los Angeles. Jack
