The annual Dwell on Design show returns to the Los Angeles Convention Center May 29-31 with more than 400 exhibitors who will display thousands of products, from furniture to prefab
dwelllings. The show’s emphasis is on innovative, modern design, but the allure for attendees is really the ability to test drive everything from Philippe Starck’s bathroom designs for
Duravit to Porsche’s new Cayenne hybrid. The schedule includes offsite self-driven home tours of progressive designs in the South Bay (May 30), and Midtown and the Eastside (Pasadena,
Highland Park, Hancock Park, Los Feliz) on May 31. In addition, visitors can tour three custom-designed downtown lofts at the Dwell at Met Lofts Studio Showcase, which is a short walk from
the L.A. Convention Center. New additions to the lineup include an appearance by noted Dutch designer Marcel Wanders, the debut of the Dwell Outdoor Cinema and lectures by interior designer
Nate Berkus and musician Moby. An impressive roster of Los Angeles architects and designers will also be on hand to discuss issues of the day, such as drought-tolerant landscaping and
water-wise homes. :: Dwell on Design WHERE: Los Angeles Convention Center, 1201 S. Figueroa St., L.A. WHEN: 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. May 29; 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. May 30; 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. May 31.
