Emmerdale star Ryan Hawley has officially reprised his role as Robert Sugden after a six-year absence from the ITV soap and viewers are convinced that another character is also returning to
the village. Robert last appeared on-screen back in 2019, with the character being sentenced to 14 years in jail following the murder of Lee Posner (Kris Mochrie). His exit came only one
year after marrying love of his life Aaron Dingle (Danny Miller) in October 2018. The 39-year-old actor debuted as Robert in 2014, becoming the fourth actor to play the character after
Richard Smith, Christopher Smith, and Karl Davies. Following his departure, Hawley had roles on Silent Witness, All Creatures Great and Small and Casualty. However, Robert made a
jaw-dropping return to the Dales on Wednesday (May 28) as ex-husband, Aaron, prepared to marry his killer half-brother John Sugden (Oliver Farnworth, in a ceremony at the village hall. As
fans of the ITV soap will know John arrived in Emmerdale last year as the estranged brother of Victoria Sugden (Isabel Hodgins), Robert and Andy (Kelvin Fletcher). The former soldier and
paramedic quickly formed a relationship with Aaron without him knowing that his former boyfriend, Aidan Moore, was still in a coma in the hospital, despite John previously confirming he was
dead. John also possesses a dangerous hero complex that has claimed the life of Nate Robinson (Jurell Carter) and has brought many others to harm. He is also responsible for concealing the
murder of Anthony Fox (Nicholas Day) earlier this year, but John's crimes are yet to be exposed. Despite Robert's welcome return, Emmerdale viewers are convinced his brother Andy
Sugden (Kelvin Fletcher) is also making a comeback. Andy made his first on-screen appearance in July 1996 before making a shock exit in August 2016. Throughout his time on the soap, Andy was
at the heart of numerous high-stakes storylines, including the mysterious demise of his wife Katie Sugden (Sammy Winward), who met her end in a barn after being shoved by Robert. The plot
thickened with Katie's affair with Robert, which led to the disintegration of their family. After years of turmoil, Andy decided to escape the village chaos using a fake passport
provided by Robert. Aside from Robert's return and John's deadly secret, there is more Sugden drama as Andy is also the father of Sarah Sugden (Katie Hill), whom he shares with
Debbie Dingle (Charley Webb). Earlier this week, Sarah was diagnosed with cervical cancer and is set to undergo treatment, only days after finding out her mum has moved to Australia. This
has sparked hysteria among Emmerdale fans, who are sure Andy will join Robert in his return to the Dales. Taking to Facebook, one person asked: "So Sarah's dad Andy can't he
come back and be there for her as well as charity and Cain x." A second added: "Andy, Debbie, Robert and hopefully Daz Eden needs to know." A third chimed in: "Oh hope
Andy comes back", while another urged: "I want Andy to walk in the room." Speaking about Robert's return, a second added: "Could it all be a red herring??."
