In a shocking turn of events on Tuesday evening's instalment of Emmerdale, John Sugden made a chilling move as more secrets came to light. Earlier this year, it was revealed that John
had killed Nate in a surprising plot twist, while several others close to him narrowly escaped death. One such individual was Aidan Moore, John's ex-fiancé, who had been in a coma for
years with his mother maintaining a constant vigil by his bedside. However, Aidan recently woke up from his coma, causing immediate alarm for John. As the episode began, John was plagued by
a nightmare in which Aidan interrupted his wedding. This dream only reinforced John's belief that he needed to take action, leading him to visit the hospital with Aidan's mother.
"I can't tell you how much you coming here means to me," she expressed, "You two went through so much together. I know you being here is going to make a difference to his
recovery. You are so important to me." Aidan's mother, Kathleen, then revealed that Aidan had been frequently asking for John. Upon hearing this, John decided to visit his former
lover, reports the Mirror. He asked Kathleen to give them some privacy, and Aidan greeted him with a simple: "You!" "Why? Why did you have to start talking?" John
responded, raising concerns about his intentions. "I loved you, more than you ever did me," he confessed to Aidan, "I tried to show you how much you needed me... I saved you.
It was only because you were too weak that it ended like us... It wasn't like that - I save people. It's what I do, it's who I am." John disclosed to Aidan his feelings
for Aaron, detailing the depths of his affection. In a tense moment, as Aidan reached for his bed's help button, John produced a syringe, exposing his dark intentions. "I never
wanted to have to do this but you gave me no choice. I wanted something painless so you'd just drop off but my mum wouldn't leave me alone so this is all I could grab," John
explained before shutting off the monitor and administering the injection. Despite his resolve, at the critical juncture, he couldn't follow through - but the ordeal triggered a cardiac
arrest in Aidan. Following the heart attack, Aidan tragically lapsed into a coma once more. Yet while Aidan remains alive for the time being, fans are left wondering if his time in the
Dales is dwindling. Reflecting on the past events with Aidan, John shared: "I tried my best to save him. I told him I could but I was lying, I had to. I could see the fear in his eyes.
I held his hand as he slowly slipped away." He confessed further: "Aidan thought I could save him and I let him down. I can never forgive myself for that." This isn't the
first time John has attempted to rescue someone; it's known that he made efforts to save several individuals, including Nate, whose life was unexpectedly taken by John in a startling
plot twist.
