Jean Johansson encountered a snag on A Place in the Sun when Nat and Dave, from Wiltshire, abruptly halted their property viewing. The couple were in Lanzarote, on the hunt for the perfect

holiday home, when they stumbled upon an issue with one of the apartments. The duo, regular visitors to Lanzarote, having travelled there more than a handful of times annually for ten years,

were hopeful that Jean could help them find a property within their £160,000 budget. Dreaming of a place where family and friends could gather, they expressed their desire for a one-bedroom

apartment with outdoor space and proximity to the beach – no more than 15 minutes on foot. Throughout the Channel 4 programme, Jean guided Nat and Dave through five potential homes in

pursuit of their ideal purchase. They were instantly taken with the first flat's appealing interior situated at the core of Puerto del Carmen. With its contemporary open-plan design

encompassing the living and dining space, along with two enticing bedrooms, Nat praised: "Overall the inside is beautiful." Yet, both agreed that the buzzing locale, particularly

its position above an Irish pub, didn't meet their expectations, leading them to conclude it was "not quite what we imagined", reports the Liverpool Echo. Dave found the

abundance of watering holes off-putting, promptly labelling the location as a definitive "no." Jean was let down by their initial reaction but was keen to make amends with her

second property. She guided Dave and Nat to a more tranquil spot in Costa Teguise. Dave and Nat were smitten with the apartment's offerings, from the pool to the sea views and generous

outdoor space. They were charmed by the open-plan living area's breezy and roomy feel, with Nat remarking: "This is the dream." While soaking up the idyllic ocean vista, she

continued: "I can just see myself sitting there on a little bench with a glass of wine looking at the sea." Jean had clearly presented a strong contender, overshadowing her other

showings. The search continued in Playa Blanca with a third property, but they halted the viewing upon spotting a problem with the flat. Dave had to stoop due to the low doorway, prompting

Jean to caution: "Mind your head", as he noted: "This is going to be an issue." He added: "And for our son who is 6ft 8." A crestfallen Jean acknowledged:

"He is really going to have to duck down." The buyers conceded they had no interest in the rest of the flat and chose to leave. The couple also found Jean's fourth suggestion

too embedded within a residential area. They ruled out the fifth property as well, with Nat citing the complex's poor maintenance as a deal-breaker. Eventually, they opted to make an

offer on their preferred property, the second flat situated in Costa Teguise. Following a lengthy negotiation, Dave and Nat managed to secure their ideal holiday home for £141,300.
