A man suffered multiple fractures after being pushed off his e-bike during an attempted robbery in Leicester. Police said the victim was reportedly attacked by a group of men who tried to

steal his bicycle, mobile phone and wallet.

The man, who is in his 20s, had ridden his e-bike out of Western Park at the Hinckley Road entrance at around 6.45pm on Saturday (May 31). Officers said he was then pushed off his bicycle by

the group of men who attempted to take it along with his personal belongings.

Leicestershire Police said today (Monday, June 2) that a motorist who was driving along Hinckley Road stopped and shouted at the suspects, causing them to run off from the scene. The alleged

victim was taken to hospital where he received treatment for fractures to his knee, arm and shoulder blade.

Detectives are now appealing for witnesses to come forward following the incident. Investigating officer Detective Constable Rebecca Ashton said: "Given this incident happened close to a

busy road in and out of the city, I believe there are people who saw what happened and can help.

"I'd like to speak to any motorists who were driving along Hinckley Road and in particular, anyone with a dashcam. Pedestrians who were walking along the road and saw what happened may

also have key information that could assist our investigation."

Anyone with information should call Leicestershire Police on 101, quoting crime reference number 25*316013. Alternatively, report information on the force's website.
