Multiple concerns have been raised to a Leicestershire business' bid to sell alcohol late into the night. Some residents fear the move would lead to "excessive noise", while
others have spoken of potential "dangerous parking" as a result of the plan. The Anmol Suite, in Oadby's The Parade, will find out this evening (Thursday, June 5) if it will
be given a premises licence to supply alcohol on site between the hours of 10am and 11.30pm Monday to Sunday, with the premises open from 10am to midnight every day. However, concerns have
been raised about this idea. Ahead of a decision from Oadby and Wigston Borough Council (OWBC), members of the public and the council's own environmental health team fear the licence
could lead to increased noise in the area. The environmental health team said there had been a "history of noise complaints" from previous managers of the premises and that The
Anmol Suite had not "carried out any improvements" to prevent further issues." READ MORE: Decision due on event licence at pub with 'history of complaints regarding
noise' Residents have also raised noise concerns and potential issues with parking. One said: "Increased potential for noise and disturbance from the proposed late night operating
hours. We already experience excessive noise of loud music from the venue and the dangerous parking [...]." Documents from The Anmol Suite reveal they have taken a number of measures to
mitigate the concerns. These include a "robust monitoring system" that includes trained staff conducting regular checks around the venue boundary during events. Trained staff will
also carry out noise checks during all events. The applicant added that all staff involved in the management of events and entertainment would be trained on the venue’s noise policies. All
doors and windows will also remain closed during events with entertainment. We are now bringing you the latest updates on WhatsApp first
