THE LEGENDARY FORMER LIVERPOOL FC MANAGER RECEIVED A SPECIAL GIFT FROM THE SPIRIT OF SHANKLY TO HONOUR HIS WORK FOR THE CLUB AND THE CITY 12:45, 30 May 2025Updated 16:12, 31 May 2025 Jürgen

Klopp was thrilled to receive a special gift from the Spirit of Shankly supporters group. The legendary Liverpool FC manager was back in the city this past week as the Reds lifted the

Premier League trophy. Klopp enjoyed a trophy laden spell as Liverpool manager from 2015 - 2024 when he restored the club to its position as one of the elite sides in Europe. The 57-year-old

also connected with the identity of the city during his time in Merseyside and was awarded the Freedom of the City of Liverpool in 2022. The Spirit of Shankly wanted to recognise

Klopp's work and reached out to Castle Fine Arts Foundry to build a unique 18 inch statue to honour what he did for the club and the city. The company is behind The Beatles statue at

the Pier Head, the Bob Paisley and Emlyn Hughes statue at Anfield, and the ‘All Together Now’ Christmas truce statue in the gardens of St Luke’s bombed-out church. The bronze statue was

designed from an image of Klopp saluting the fans in his final away game as manager against Aston Villa. The statue was handed in person to Klopp from representatives of the Spirit of

Shankly this week. Speaking about the gift, Bill Shankly's granddaughter and Spirit of Shankly patron, Karen Gill, said: "This gesture not only celebrates Klopp's indelible

impact on LFC, but also continues the enduring legacy of my grandfather, Bill Shankly, whose principles of unity and dedication remain at the heart of our club and its supporters, something

that Jürgen also embodied." "The statue was given to Jürgen to recognise the work of a great man, our most charismatic manager since Shanks himself." The statue was also

presented to Klopp by Spirit of Shankly chair, Paul Khan, and vice chair Peter Hooton. Mr Khan said the gesture represents all the Klopp meant to the city. He added: "The statue was

given to Jürgen to recognise the work of a great man, our most charismatic manager since Shanks himself. "It wasn't for the trophies or the great days and nights he gave us,

although we will always be eternally grateful for those, it was gifted to him because he got us: - our culture and our politics, and we got him. Jürgen gave us back the most important thing

you can have: belief." Klopp was pictured admiring the statues in photographs shared by the Spirit of Shankly. The statue was designed by sculptor Andy Edwards, who said: "It has

been hugely enjoyable to work with Spirit of Shankly and Castle Fine Ars Foundry in producing this heartfelt tribute from the fans. Article continues below "Jürgen is a true icon of the

modern game who breathed new confidence and renewed winning mentality into this city. It's a well-deserved tribute and an honour for me to have been a part."
