LEANNE HAS DESCRIBED THIS WEEK AS "THE HARDEST WEEK OF WORK EVER" 04:00, 05 Jun 2025 Today marks an important day in the career of Leanne Campbell as she will host her final
breakfast show for Hits Radio, formerly known as Radio City. Leanne, who has co-hosted the show for more than 10 years, and her current presenting partner Joel Ross will be saying goodbye to
their current 6am-10am slot as they entertain listeners for a final time. Since the news was announced in March, a wave of support for the presenters has been shared online. The programme
was the only one left on Hits Radio Liverpool that had a direct Merseyside link, after the Radio City breakfast show was combined with the one broadcast on Lancashire's Rock FM - which
Joel hosted. The Liverpool station and 14 others across the country were rebranded to Hits Radio last April. Parent company Bauer Media revealed that it would scrap local and regional
breakfast shows on all of its Hits Radio stations for the whole of England and Wales from June 9. Leanne shared her thoughts about the show being axed as she posted a Facebook post in March.
She told fans of the show: "Our show will be replaced by a national show. To every single one of you who has woken up with me in Liverpool for over 22 years, thank you from the bottom
of my heart. "It has been the greatest privilege to be part of your mornings, to share the laughter, the stories, our lives and all the moments that have made this job so special THANK
YOU!" Article continues below She continued: "Your support has always meant the world to me and without it we wouldn’t have smashed those glass ceilings together. What a journey!
The scouse ‘travel girl’ is forever grateful for what we achieved! X" The award-winning radio host is well aware of the support she and the rest of the team have received since the show
was axed. Earlier this week, Leanne shared a number of supportive messages that have been sent her way, on Instagram. One said: "Good morning Leanne emotional week for you and all of
us who have woken up to for years, the laughs, the tears, you have made out mornings for God knows how long. "It's really not gonna be the same. Have the best week, be very proud
of what you have done and will continue to do for our city. Absolutely proud to be scouse can't wait to see what's in store for you." She reposted the comment, alongside the
caption: "Here we go. 4 final shows." Leanne said she was "100% gone" after another emotional message from a listener. A further message was: "The radio won't
be the same without you and, safe to say, I won't be listening. Good luck for the future." Leanne re-shared the post as she said: "The hardest week of work ever I'm
really grateful for everyone's messages. Thank you." Although today, June 5, marks the last Hits Radio breakfast show for Leanne, it is not the last fans will see of her. The
Scouser has remained positive and upbeat in the months that have followed the devastating blow. The radio host previously shared online: "Been manifesting my little head off the last
few weeks, this page is about to get BUSY! Life’s been turned upside down but you know what? I hustle harder when my feelings get hurt & you will never find me where you left me!"
Leanne put her determination down to her Scouse, Irish blood, telling followers that there are "new adventures incoming". Leanne has also asked fans to keep supporting her posts
and subscribing to her podcast. She added: "You gorgeous lot your encouragement is priceless! Now let’s see what the rest of 2025 brings." Fans and friends were quick to leave
messages of support. Some of the comments left in support of the DJ on previous ECHO stories about her departure include: "Nobody will replace Leanne and Joel. I won't be tuning in
when they have gone, me and my grandson laughed along every school day." Article continues below Another fan wrote: "I only get up to listen to Leanne and Joel, it's good to
start the day with a smile. I don't mind admitting, I'll be in bits on their final show."
