A MAN AGED 48 WAS CHARGED WITH ATTEMPTED MURDER AND ASSAULT OCCASIONING ACTUAL BODILY HARM 10:03, 02 Jun 2025 Police have issued an update after a woman was stabbed. The woman, in her 30s,
was left fighting for her life after suffering "extremely serious injuries" at around 8.25pm on Friday, May 30 on Phythian Close, Kensington, Neighbours described hearing a
"loud bang" before looking out and finding the woman unresponsive on the ground. People rushed to help, performing CPR on the woman as emergency services were called to the scene.
Merseyside Police were called to reports a woman in her 30s had suffered chest and face injuries. In a later update on Sunday, June 1, police confirmed the victim's injuries could be
"described as stab wounds". In a further update on Monday, June 2, a spokesperson for the force confirmed the victim remains in a serious but stable condition in hospital. A
48-year-old man from Kensington was arrested on suspicion of attempted murder and taken into custody for questioning. Olamuyiwa Otti, 48, of Phythian Close was charged with attempted murder
and assault occasioning actual bodily harm. He was remanded in custody to appear at Liverpool Magistrates Court today. The street was cordoned off, and there was a strong police presence in
the area over the weekend as police carried out enquiries. A further cordon has been set up around a house within the main cordon, with blue tarpaulin covering the ground and wall. Article
continues below Detective Inspector Leanne Toole said on Saturday: “A woman has been left with extremely serious injuries as a result of this incident." She added: "Detectives are
speaking to potential witnesses at the scene and exploring all CCTV and doorbell footage opportunities in the local area as we seek to get a full understanding of what took place, and I
