Some very important decisions are going to be made at Liverpool over the next few months. The summer transfer window will force the Reds to make some decisions on what their squad will look
like for next season, at the very least. Liverpool will go into next season as the defending Premier League champions and will want to ensure they are in the best position possible to defend
their crown. Not to mention, the Reds will also want to have an improved campaign in the Champions League, as well as enjoy success in the domestic cup competitions. Arne Slot will now be
looking ahead to the 2025/26 season, and sporting director Richard Hughes will be working hard behind the scenes to bring in new signings ahead of the summer transfer window. Here, _THE
ECHO_ looks at the transfers we would make if we were in a position of power at Liverpool... SQUAD REBUILD The summer transfer window is fast approaching and Liverpool are already being
linked with several potential new signings. The £125m-rated Florian Wirtz, £30m Jeremie Frimpong and £45m Milos Kerkez are the three players who seem the most likely to become Liverpool
players ahead of next season. There have also been rumours that Eintracht Frankfurt striker Hugo Ekitike could be a player of interest to the Reds this summer. Liverpool have also been
rumoured to be in the market for a new centre-back and midfielder this summer. The possibility of new signings has also led to speculation some members of the squad could depart. All the
signs point towards plenty of changes being made to the Liverpool squad this summer. From the Reds' point of view, they will hope the new additions will make the squad even stronger to
challenge on multiple fronts next term. VICE-CAPTAIN DECISION Now that Trent Alexander-Arnold has played his last match for the club, Liverpool will have some key decisions to make. One of
which will be who replaces the right-back as the club's vice-captain. Alexander-Arnold was given the honour by Jurgen Klopp in 2023 following James Milner's departure. Slot will
now be tasked with giving the vice-captaincy to another member of the squad. Mohamed Salah could be an obvious contender, given longevity in the squad and leadership qualities. The same
could also be said for Andy Robertson, who wears the captain's armband for Scotland. Alexis Mac Allister has also been mentioned as a potential captain for the future. Whoever Liverpool
decide to have as their new vice-captain to replace Alexander-Arnold, there are several contenders for the honour. IBRAHIMA KONATE DEAL This season saw the contract sagas for Virgil van
Dijk, Salah and Alexander-Arnold dominate the headlines. Next term could see Ibrahima Konate's name follow suit if an agreement over a new contract is not agreed. Konate's current
contract is set to expire in the summer of 2026, meaning he is about to enter the last 12 months of his deal. Liverpool would be wise to try and reach an agreement with the centre-back as
soon as possible, so as to avoid the likely media speculation that would follow next season.
