IF YOU'RE JETTING OFF ABROAD THIS SUMMER, YOU'LL WANT TO DO WHAT THIS RYANAIR EMPLOYEE SAYS TO AVOID FORKING OUT AT THE AIRPORT DESK 15:24, 05 Jun 2025 As the summer season gets
underway, millions are preparing to make their way through UK airports. For occasional flyers, the airport experience can quickly become overwhelming and, if you're not careful, it can
potentially lead to unexpected charges. Popular low-cost airline Ryanair operates around 3,600 flights daily. It offers journeys from the UK to an array of European destinations including
Cyprus, Denmark, France, Greece, Italy, the Netherlands, Spain among others. While the airline commits to keeping costs down for passengers, there can be some charges that unaware travellers
may stumble across. A TikTok user named Mesha, who says she works for Ryanair at London Stansted Airport, offered some insider tips for a stress-free trip with the airline this summer. Her
video aims to enlighten holidaymakers on some of the regulations and benefits. Mesha highlighted a perk for those travelling with little ones, sharing that "two free baby items per
child" were available per child for families - including pushchairs, car seats and cots within the luggage allowance at no extra cost. But, any extras will be subject to additional
fees, reports the Express. She added that hot drinks will not be allowed past the boarding gate, saying: "Ryanair does not permit hot drinks on board. You can purchase drinks on board,
but you cannot take a hot drink from outside onto the aircraft for safety reasons. You think we're just trying to make you buy more on board but we're really not!" Article

tells you what time the gate closes. Make sure you are at the gate no later than a few minutes before that closing time." Mesha's most valuable piece of advice for those flying
with Ryanair this summer is to always check-in online. She said: "It is the easiest thing to do. It opens 24 hours before your flight departs and closes two hours before." She
warned that failure to do so could result in a hefty fee, explaining: "If you do not check in online, you will be charged £55 when you get to the airport." She added: You cannot
check in, get your boarding card—nothing—without paying that £55 online." In her video, she stressed that holidaymakers booking via third-party agents must ensure they have the
necessary details to complete their own check-in, as third parties might not do this for them. "You need to get the booking details so that you can check yourself in because most of the
time, they do not check you in and you'll still be charged," she said. The Ryanair website clearly states that customers who check in online can bypass the fee. The £55 charge is
only imposed on those who fail to check in before arriving at the airport. A spokesperson from Ryanair said: "If you do not check in online up to 2 hours before your scheduled departure
time, you may check in at the airport up to 40 minutes before departure, but you will be charged an airport check-in fee. We urge all passengers to check in online before arriving at the
airport so these fees can be avoided." Mesha issued a word of warning for travellers who might leave check-in to the last minute. "How they decide who is offloaded is based on the
last people to check in," she claimed. Article continues below For those planning to fly with Ryanair, it's best to check the full list of potential extra charges on their website.
While some fees are unavoidable, many can be reduced if everything is arranged during the initial booking process rather than later on or at the airport itself.
