THERE WILL ALSO BE 10 NEW JOBS CREATED WHEN THE PUB REOPENS NEXT MONTH 11:29, 04 Jun 2025 A 'tired' pub is set to close ahead of a £300,000 refurbishment that will completely
transform how it looks, both on the outside and on the inside. The Old Crow Inn on Crow Lane East, Newton-le-Willows, will undergo a major facelift, with the renovation works starting next
week. It is hoped the works will "transform it into a top-notch family-friendly local", which will serve traditional pub meals and offer live sports on the TVs, as well as a
programme of entertainment. The investment at The Old Crow Inn on Crow Lane East is being carried out by Heineken-owned Star Pubs. As part of the revamp, Sam Attwood, from Warrington, will
take the helm as the operator running the pub on behalf of Star Pubs, helped by her partner Andy Jones. Work starts on Monday, June 9, and The Old Crow Inn is scheduled to reopen in late
July. Star Pubs say 10 new jobs will be created at the pub when it reopens to customers next month. A statement shared with the ECHO revealed: "The external works will completely
restore the outside of the tired pub, repainting the building in a classic navy and cream and adding new signage and lighting, enhancing the neighbourhood. Article continues below "The
unoverlooked rear garden will also have a makeover, which will add four six-seater pods for year-round use, smart new furniture seating 84 people and attractive planting. "The extensive
redecoration programme will upgrade the dated interior throughout with a stylish décor that is sympathetic to the building’s character. "Distinctive features such as the stone floors,
old beams and horseshoe bar will be renovated and retained alongside new furniture, carpets and soft furnishings. "To cater for all The Crow Inn will have a comfortable lounge and
dining area, a spacious bar and one of the best sports zones in town kitted out with a brand-new pool table and a halo-lit darts boards with electronic scoring. "A new high spec AV
system will have six screens showing Sky and TNT Sports." The statement added: "The installation of a kitchen will enable The Old Crow Inn to introduce all-day food. The menu will
have a wide selection of dishes including burgers, pizzas, curries and pub classics, like steak and ale pie and fish and chips as well as options for children. "he drinks range will be
equally varied spanning craft beer, cocktails and fresh coffee." The project aims to "put The Old Crow Inn back on the map" as a hub of the community. The revamped venue will
be offering a programme of live music, poker evenings and quiz nights, in addition to sports screenings and pool and darts teams. Sam said: “I wanted to move back closer to home and family
and friends and we’d been looking for a pub in the Newton-le-Willows area for some time. "Andy and I both love sports and food and enjoy working in entertainment, so The Old Crow Inn is
perfect for us, and we jumped at the chance to run it. "It’s rundown now but will look fantastic when the works are completed and have something for everyone. We can’t wait to open the
doors and show people their new-look local.” Article continues below Star Pubs investment manager Andy Bowden: “We’re delighted to be investing in The Crow Inn and changing its offer to
give it a new lease of life. The refurbishment will give the pub a much broader appeal and help it thrive for the long term. We’ll be working flat out to reopen the pub in time for the
summer holiday season.”
