WOLVES STAR MATHEUS CUNHA IS CLOSING IN ON A MOVE TO OLD TRAFFORD THIS SUMMER AND HAS BEEN PICTURED IN MANCHESTER. 10:53, 01 Jun 2025Updated 15:07, 01 Jun 2025 Matheus Cunha has been
pictured in Manchester ahead of his transfer to Manchester United. Cunha was spotted outside The Lowry Hotel on Sunday morning, checking out with his family. The _Manchester Evening News_
reported last month that Cunha was optimistic about moving to Old Trafford and the club is expected to trigger his £62.5million release clause. Sources suggested Cunha was due to dine at The
Ivy on Saturday night, but only the players' representatives and United's director of recruitment, Christopher Vivell, were spotted. Cunha headed to catch his flight to South
America for international duty after leaving the hotel. The forward is set to be the first new face through the door at Carrington, as Ruben Amorim looks to strengthen his squad in the
summer transfer window following an awful campaign. Article continues below Cunha scored 17 goals and tallied six assists in a struggling Wolves side this season. He was named the man of the
match in both of Wolves’ Premier League wins against United, scoring direct from a corner at Molineux. The 26-year-old has been identified as a specialist No.10 to bolster United’s
attacking options behind the striker. United refused to break the £60million barrier for any of their five summer signings last year, but they are expected to stagger the £62.5m payment for
Cunha in instalments. Amorim billed Cunha as "real quality" on the eve of the 1-0 defeat to Wolves. "He [Wolves coach Vitor Pereira] is playing a 3-4-3, he's doing quite
well! He's changing some players, he has real quality players - Cunha and all these guys, they have real quality." When pressed on Cunha and possible interest from United, Amorim
replied: "I just gave the example because I remembered about Matheus. He's scoring a lot of goals. Just that." --- _Here at The Manchester Evening News, we are dedicated to
