MAN UNITED REMAIN OPEN TO SIGNING HIGHLY-RATED SPORTING LISBON WING-BACK GEOVANY QUENDA. 13:00, 11 Feb 2025 Geovany Quenda's youth coach at Sporting Lisbon, Bernardo Bruschy, has

admitted he would not be surprised if the youngster ended up sealing a move to Manchester United. As reported by the _Manchester Evening News_ on Tuesday, United remain open to signing the

Sporting ace, despite strengthening their wing-back options in the January window with the addition of Patrick Dorgu from Lecce. United met with Jorge Mendes back in November to discuss the

possibility of signing the talented 17-year-old. Mendes' Gestifute agency is negotiating on behalf of Quenda's agent Igor Campedelli. Quenda enjoyed a sharp rise at Sporting under

now-United head coach Ruben Amorim, playing a key role in his fellow countryman's trademark 3-4-2-1 system at the beginning of this season. The Portuguese international, who is

left-footed, is an attack-minded wing-back who plays predominantly on the right. Scoring two goals and claiming seven assists for Sporting across all competitions so far this season, Quenda

is understandably attracting a lot of attention. But despite Bruschy believing the wing-back has the credentials to end up at Old Trafford, he is surprised just how quickly such talk has

come to fruition. Article continues below Bruschy, speaking to A Bola, said: "Seeing his name being associated with clubs of the biggest size in Europe surprises me just because it is

so early, I am not surprised if he gets there." Raving about Quenda and his maturity for his age, Bruschy continued: "Sometimes we forget that Quenda is only 17-years-old. His

maturity, his quality and the performance he can already give to the team, even though he is so young, are something out of the ordinary. "And that makes us forget his age, but he is

only 17-years-old and has a lot to improve and grow, but he is already a player who is at a state of maturity far ahead of what is normal for his age." Article continues below
