Shares of steel producer Cleveland-Cliffs surged 26% in premarket trading after President Trump said Friday that he would double imports on foreign steel to 50% from 25%. Shares of Nucor
climbed and Steel Dynamics rose 12% each. Trump made the announcement at a rally celebrating a deal between U.S. Steel Corp. and Japan’s Nippon Steel. Moderna shares rose 4% in premarket
trading. The pharmaceutical and biotech group said Saturday that the U.S. Food and Drug Administration had approved a new COVID-19 vaccine in all adults 65 and older, as well as individuals
aged 12-64 years with at least one or more underlying risk factor. Tesla stock fell over 2% as China rivals Li Auto, XPeng and NIO all posted strong sales in May. NIO shares rose 1.4% in
premarket trading, but XPeng and Li Auto slipped.
