Nvidia spent $14.5 billion to repurchase 126 million shares during the first quarter to April 27, and increase of 81.3% from the $8 billion spent the same quarter last year. As of April 27, the company was authorized to spend up to $24.3 billion to buy back stock. For the month from April 28 through May 23, Nvidia said it paid $2.3 billion to buy back 19 million shares. At that pace, Q2 repurchases would be well below that of Q1, and down slightly from the $7 billion spent on buybacks in last year's Q2.
