People do not want to wear crap like goggles or watches to participate in a virtual world. They don’t mind if their gadgets assist in getting them there, but they are not gonna wear anything. Imagine if you placed your iPhone or iPad a certain way and the camera or whatever became a lens and a mirror that immersed you in a meeting space with others who also had their iPhones/iPads similarly positioned. Now imagine y’all could gather together on the surface of the Moon or walk through a forest … any place that could be mapped. Imagine how these experiences would feel so real that they become actual memories. It would cause memoir editors all sorts of angst at publishers everywhere, but o digress… a bridge we’ll need to cross when we get to it. iPhones and iPad are WAYYYYY over-powered for what they are currently being asked to do. When we get these optics in place to project us into the Metaverse, we’ll be lucky if those M1 chips can keep up. And let’s keep hoping Zuck’s ability to imagine his version of the Metaverse remains … limited and sophomoric. *not a typo… the logical if, and only if … iff

can keep up.

And let’s keep hoping Zuck’s ability to imagine his version of the Metaverse remains … limited and sophomoric.
