The first school I ever went to was three three floors and contained all grades from first through twelfth. Grades One through Six were on the first floor with the nurse’s office. Then Grades Seven through Twelve were on the second floor with the library and auditorium. The bottom level had several classrooms, bathrooms/showers for boys and girls, and a cafeteria. It worked out extremely well. Lower grades and the upper grades were basically schools unto themselves, but there was still a sense of being part of a larger community. It worked out extremely well. Sounds a little like what you have described. Smaller schools work best, I think and even if they are sharing space.
