STACEY SOLOMON AND JOE SWASH HAVE BEEN LEFT BLINDSIDED AFTER RECEIVING BACKLASH FOR THEIR EPONYMOUS NEW REALITY SHOW, A SOURCE CLAIMS, ADDING THAT IT'S 'TOUGH' FOR THE COUPLE.
13:11, 02 Apr 2025 Stacey Solomon and Joe Swash hit the small screen this week with their eponymous new BBC reality show, but the couple didn't realise just how vulnerable giving an
insight into their life could make them, a source claims to Mirror. "Stacey and Joe want to work from home and show off their beautiful house and happy family, they want it to be like a
more down-to-earth version of The Kardashians! But the fact is, with that, you do get criticism and people giving their opinions - more so than they realised," says the source. The
show, which first aired on Monday, gives an insight into Stacey and Joe's life in their Essex home - dubbed Pickle Cottage - with their blended family of five children. However, some
viewers have already shared their criticisms, particularly towards Joe after the first episode saw him return home five hours late from a fishing trip, leaving Stacey to juggle work meetings
and parenting their brood alone. Fans weren't happy after watching the scenes, as many took to social media to express their concerns, with one writing: "Gosh Joe Swash is not
coming across well! He really takes @StaceySolomon for granted!" while others blasted his lack of organisation. Now, the source says Joe has been struggling to take the negative
comments towards him, something the couple are having to navigate since putting their life out there on screen. They said: "Joe can be very sensitive to criticism and gets very upset by
it, so doing the show is not as easy as it seems. "Sharing their life sounds like a great idea in theory but it's not as easy as they thought to just film your life at home, the
trolling can be non-stop which then can cause upset in the family." Stacey and Joe share Rex, five, Rose, three and two-year-old Belle. Meanwhile Stacey is also mum to Zachary, 17 and
Leighton, 12. Joe is also dad to son Harry, born in 2007. Between Stacey's busy career and new projects, including her own perfume range, and Joe's commitments while parenting
their children - there's no question that it's non-stop for the family. And as they try to juggle it all, the source says Stacey and Joe are navigating the new pressures of sharing
their life with the screen. The source told us: "They are so desperate to be this superfamily who can do it all and share their life with the world, but with that is coming pressures
that are difficult to deal with. It feels like a trade off at the moment." Article continues below Mirror has reached out to Stacey and Joe's representative for comment.
