BRITS ARE FACING A MIXED WEATHER OUTLOOK OVER THE COMING WEEKS WITH PARTS OF THE COUNTRY SET TO SEE SCORCHING TEMPERATURES WHILE OTHER AREAS WILL HAVE MILDER CONDITIONS AND MORE SHOWERS

09:02, 30 May 2025 Weather maps show that the UK could soon see scorching temperatures hitting 29C in a mixed outlook with other areas much cooler. A Spanish plume will bring balmy

conditions over the coming days to mainly the south of the UK while the north and west are set to see showers and cooler temperatures. And this is a pattern which is expected to continue

into the middle of next month where the mercury could touch nearly 30C. A map from WXCharts for June 11 is orange for parts of the south where there is a high of 27C in the London area and

it remains in the high 20Cs towards the Bristol area but in Cornwall it will only be in the mid to high teens. Similarly further north it is a lot cooler with coastal areas of Scotland,

north west England and Wales seeing the mercury in the mid teens. Then on June 12 it is even warmer with temperatures reaching 29C in the south east and the hot weather stretches further

across the east of England and the Midlands. It is predicted to be warmer as well in most areas but still making only the mid teens in parts of Scotland, Wales and the south west of England.

Unusually hot weather for the time of year is being felt in Spain currently where temperatures could hit 40C this weekend and that air is moving northwards and reaching southern parts of

the UK. While low pressure systems sweeping in off the Atlantic will bring rain for the north and west. Longer term, the current changeable conditions are set to remain well into June with

the Met Office saying there is a chance of "hot conditions” developing in the middle part of next month. Article continues below The national weather agency states: “An unsettled spell

of weather is expected through the middle and later part of next week as areas of low pressure move in from the Atlantic across the UK. These will bring showers or longer spells of rain to

most areas, these heavy at times, perhaps accompanied by strong winds along some coasts. “Over the following weekend and towards the middle of June, dry weather will probably begin to become

more dominant in the south, whereas the north is more likely to remain more unsettled with further episodes of rain or showers and strong winds. Temperatures are likely to be close to or

slightly below normal at first, perhaps rising above average later, with a low chance of hot conditions developing for a time.” The ECM weather model is currently predicting a mini heatwave

for early to mid June with the mercury hitting 30C in south east England and 24-26C in parts of Wales. However other modelling is more pessimistic, indicating seasonal averages only. For

late June, the complex weather pattern means the Met Office’s Forecast Confidence Index is currently “slightly below average”, reflecting some uncertainty. But the forecaster is cautiously

optimistic. “The general trend suggests a gradual return to more settled conditions as we move into June,” it said. Article continues below “Probabilistic pressure models hint at high

pressure building from the south or southwest. While this doesn’t guarantee prolonged dry spells, it does suggest a shift toward more stable weather, especially in the south. The north west,

however, may still see occasional incursions of wetter weather due to the mobile nature of the pattern.”
