22 Apr 2025Updated 11:52, 22 Apr 2025 A pair of twins have gone viral for what's been called the "greatest news interview of all time" after they and their mum were caught up
in a horrifying traffic incident involving a man carrying a gun. Bridgette and Paula Powers from Australia's Sunshine Coast, spoke in complete sync to a Seven News Queenland reporter
after the alleged gunman crashed his car, got out and waved his weapon at their mother. He is alleged to have shot another man in the arm, then got into the injured man's car and driven
away. Article continues below The identical twins, who have previously been on Good Morning Britain, gave a joint account of the moment the man - who is alleged to have caused a six-vehicle
pile-up on the Bruce Highway - got out of the wreckage with blood across his face, prompting their mum to ask if he was OK. "And one guy, he was up there with our mum, and he went up
there, and he was coming back down towards us," the sisters, who were dressed in identical blue outfits, told the reporter. "And he goes, 'run, he's got a gun, and our
hearts started to pound, and I said, 'Mum, where's Mum?' "And poor Mum was stuck up there but apparently our brave mum she goes, 'are you alright?' Because he
had all blood all over his face." The twins, who have previously revealed they share a single phone, sleep in twin beds in the same bedroom and always dress in identical outfits, then
finished each other's sentences as they revealed that the alleged gunman threatened their mum with his weapon. "She goes, 'Hey, I'm here to help'," they said.
"And Mum distracted him to make him look the other way, and he looked the other way, and Mum ran into the bush behind the fence. "And the guy goes to her, 'I'll find you,
and I'll shoot you'." Luckily their mother escaped unharmed, and the twins said they felt "so blessed" to be safe and sound. Police have now arrested a 41-year-old
man, who will appear before Maroochydore Magistrates Court charged with 15 offences in relation to the crash. A 22-year-old woman sadly died of her injuries sustained in the pile-up.
Bridgette and Paula are well-known wildlife rescuers in their local area and founded their own centre called Twinnies Pelican and Seabird Rescue. They appear on the Bondi Vet TV show to
showcase their work with injured sea birds. The twins previously appeared on GMB in 2016 and made then-host Piers Morgan laugh with their synchronised speaking. "How can you keep a
straight face?" he guffawed as co-host Susannah Reid asked the twins whether they rehearse what to say. "It is one of the greatest interviews I have ever conducted in my
life," he added. Fans reacted to the twins' latest video with delight and amazement, with one saying: "I’m a bit envious. Not in the sinful way, just in the close love and
direction type way. This is extraordinary! I’m filing a grievance with my mom, I WANNA TWIN!" Another questioned: "Do they ever talk to each other? Do they ever have any questions
to ask each other, or do they just know it without asking?" Article continues below And a third wrote: "This is freaking amazing! I would love to see a brain wave study of
what's going on in their respective auditory cortexes when they speak. Like I wonder if each twin internally processes the other's voice as her own."
