ABSTRACT A NEW thermodynamic method1 for calculation of hydrate formulæ from aqueous solution freezing curves has revealed a number of non-electrolyte hydrates of unexpected formulæ which
are probably characteristic of new groups of clathrate hydrates. In Table 1, data are presented for these hydrates showing the calculated hydrate formula with its 95 per cent confidence
limit of error, the structurally probable water : hydrate-former combining ratio number _n_, the congruent freezing point (° C) and reference to the original freezing point measurements.
