Access through your institution Buy or subscribe AML with t(6;11)(q27;q23) is the most prognostically unfavorable subset of AML with 11q23 abnormalities,1 with an estimated 2-year survival
of 13%2 and a median overall survival (OS) period of 12 months.3 There have been no previous reports regarding the efficacy of allogeneic hematopoietic SCT (Allo-HSCT) in adult AML with
t(6;11)(q27;q23) in the first CR. In this study, we performed a retrospective analysis of data from nine adult AML patients with t(6;11)(q27;q23) aged <60 years in the first CR to clarify
the effects of Allo-HSCT in adult AML with this chromosomal abnormality in the first CR. Data from nine adult (⩾17 years old) AML patients with t(6;11)(q27;q23) aged <60 years, diagnosed
between 1990 and 2006 at six institutions in Japan, were included in the retrospective analysis. Chromosomal analysis was performed after culturing BM cells for 24–48 h. Twenty metaphase
