this seat. In 2013, Yogendra Singh (Baba) of INC emerged victorious in this seat beating Smt Shashi Thakur (Maravi) of BJP by a margin of 12,781 votes which was 6.8% of the total votes
polled in the constituency. INC had a vote share of 41.47% in the seat. In the 2008 elections, Shashi Thakur of BJP won this seat beating Beni Kundan Parte of INC by a margin of 4,998 votes
