Reported By : Last Updated:November 05, 2023, 15:02 IST X’S (FORMERLY TWITTER) ARTIFICIAL INTELLIGENCE DIVISION, XAI, HAS LAUNCHED ITS OWN GENERATIVE AI CHATBOT CALLED GROK, BASED ON GROK-1.
HERE ARE THE DETAILS. 2023 has been a significant year for generative AI. Not only have we seen platforms like OpenAI’s ChatGPT, Google Bard, and Meta Llama 2 maturing, but generative AI
has also permeated the mainstream, reaching consumer-grade products such as the Google Pixel 8 series. Now, X’s (formerly Twitter) artificial intelligence division, xAI, has launched its own
generative AI chatbot called Grok, based on Grok-1, X’s proprietary LLM developed over the last four months. Grok features several differences compared to the most popular chatbots, such as
Google Bard and ChatGPT. Announcing the same, X said, “Grok is based on ‘Hitchhiker’s Guide to the Galaxy,’ intended to answer almost anything and, more challenging, even suggest what
questions to ask!" RECOMMENDED STORIES A striking difference is that Grok answers users’ queries with wit and humor, possessing a “rebellious streak," as per X. It’s also claimed
that Grok will tackle “spicy questions" that other models tend to avoid. While we’re not entirely certain about what X means by “spicy," it could be interpreted as attempting to
answer more controversial questions compared to models like GPT-4 or Google PaLM. Moreover, Grok can also go through X (Twitter) and access real-time knowledge on the platform to respond
accordingly. However, the chatbot is currently in an early beta stage and is not yet a final product. “We want Grok to serve as a powerful research assistant for anyone, aiding in quick
access to relevant information, data processing, and generating new ideas," notes X. Additionally, the company aims to create AI tools useful for individuals of all backgrounds and
political views. If you want to access the chatbot, there’s currently a waitlist, and is only available for X Premium/verified users, and when we tried signing up for the same, the website
said that the tool isn’t available in our location, which is India, yet. News18 Tech delivers the latest technology updates, including phone launches, gadget reviews, AI advancements, and
