The Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) raided 30 different locations in Kolkata and Ranchi for alleged involvement in hawala trade on Wednesday. The raids were carried out at 14 locations
in the West Bengal capital and the rest in Ranchi (News Nation reported 18 in Kolkata and 5 in Ranchi).
CBI also raided the premises of Tapas K Dutta of Ranchi’s Income Tax Department in Salt Lake, Kolkata.
The raids were conducted in relation to an ongoing investigation against Dutta. A case was registered against him and six others including a chartered accountant on charges of illegal
gratification, criminal conspiracy and criminal misconduct.
