BJP leader Subramanian Swamy, on Monday, moved an application in the Delhi High Court which sought the filing of the chargesheet within 45 days in connection to the death of Congress leader

Shashi Tharoor’s wife Sunanda Pushkar. The fresh plea comes after Swamy’s earlier petition in the Delhi High Court which sought a time-bound, court-monitored probe by the SIT or CBI into

Pushkar’s death. The court also rapped the Delhi police over their failure to complete the investigation even after three and half years and asked them to make its stand clear by August 1.

Swamy had filed a petition in the HC on July 6, stating that “inordinate delays” have been caused in the case of Pushkar’s death, “which are a blot on the justice system”. Swamy also alleged

that Tharoor used his influential position to divert the course of the investigation. The court then asked Swamy about the public interest connected to the case, to which he replied that

there was a public interest in exposing corruption.
