Heart failure patients with negative beliefs about medication are at a higher risk of experiencing adverse drug events (ADEs), researchers from the Netherlands and Sweden have found. A study

of 495 patients, published in the International Journal of Nursing Studies found that 67% of patients experienced ADEs in the previous four weeks. ADEs were associated with disease symptoms

and negative beliefs about medication, while demographic and clinical factors were not significant.
