Stefanie Keenan/Wireimage (From left: Danielle Snyder, Anne Hathaway, Rashida Jones, Amy Poehler, Aubrey Plaza and Jodie Snyder Morel) You already knew Rashida Jones was cool. How cool,
exactly? So cool that she could dream up a line of jewelry, call up her friends at star-loved line Dannijo, and make it happen. And last night, she hosted an equally cool dinner with some of
her fabulous pals (Anne Hathaway, Aubrey Plaza, Amy Poehler) to toast the launch of Fine by Dannijones. Before dining on a very fancy dinner, Jones and the Dannijo designers, sisters
Danielle and Jodie Snyder, spoke to PEOPLE about their über-hip collaboration, which features lots of whimsical elements like palm trees, pineapples and unicorns. “We were introduced through
a mutual friend and [the connection] was kind of instantaneous,” Jones says of her friendship with the Snyders. “I came by the showroom in New York and I kind of never left.” Over the years
she’s hosted presentations for the brand and has been seen in their jewelry frequently, and she finally got the itch to design her own. “I said, ‘Would you guys ever consider doing a
collaboration with me, who knows jacks–t about jewelry?’ And they were like, ‘Yes, awesome, yes.’” Jones says. She worked with the sisters, who are known for their statement pieces, to
develop something simpler for her first collection. “Fine by Dannijones is controlled and refined, and it’s supposed to have that feeling like you don’t want to take it off. It’s second
skin. You shower with it.” PHOTOS: Love her outfit! Star styles you’ll want to steal Inside snaps by Gabrielle Olya Her love for jewelry started young. “I totally played with jewelry
[growing up],” she says. “My sister’s a jewelry designer. I have my mom [Peggy Lipton]’s Chanel pearls from the ’80s, which are one of my favorite things of all time. There’s something about
jewelry where it’s like having dessert with every meal, the way that I like.” And the lovefest was mutual, say the Snyders. “I think Rashida’s a really imaginative force, obviously as an
actress and a creative spirit,” Danielle says. “It was really cool to see that transferable skillset in the jewelry arena. Rashida really had a clear vision of what she wanted and there was
a real organic synergy between us and this sort of sisterly spirit about the way we went about collaborating. It was organic, and I think you can see that in the collection.” ARE YOU EXCITED
