Samsung Electronics Co. Ltd. is teaming with Paramount Digital Entertainment to package the three “Mission Impossible” films with the purchase of new Samsung Delve phones from Alltel
Wireless.Though Verizon Wireless completed its acquisition of Alltel earlier this year, the markets not included in the deal continue to operate under the Alltel brand. AT&T Mobility is
rumored to be interested in purchasing those remaining markets. Thus, though Alltel’s deal with Samsung may be temporary, the content deal remains notable. The “Mission Impossible” trilogy
will be included on microSD cards with the purchase of new handsets through April 16. Buyers will receive a mail-in redemption card to receive the microSD card within four to six weeks.“When
you combine the incredible content with the Delve’s full set of powerful features, it’s easy to stay entertained and connected no matter where you are,” said Samsung’s Bill Ogle. The offer
is just the latest move by a mobile player to package content and hardware. Nokia Corp. and Omnifone are including free music with the purchase of new phones, granting an unlimited number of
downloads over a specific period of time.
