Performer announces several shows in August and September to support new album 'The Nashville Sound' Jason Isbell is gearing up to release his new album _The Nashville Sound_ this

summer, but his attention is already getting focused well into the future. The Alabama native hits the road next month with his band the 400 Unit, and today he’s added another two month’s

worth of shows to his tour itinerary with backing from his spouse Amanda Shires, as well as Frank Turner and the Sleeping Souls. The tour starts with a handful of shows in May but doesn’t

really get busy until just after _The Nashville Sound_‘s June 16th release date. Today’s announcement adds a second leg to the tour that follows a month-long break, with the new shows

kicking off in Shreveport, Louisiana at the Shreveport Municipal Auditorium on August 20th. The 21 new dates, spread between August and September, take place mostly in the Midwest and South

with a detour to the West coast, including a September 17th visit to the Orpheum Theatre in Los Angeles. Isbell will play back-to-back nights at Chicago Theater as well as Charlotte, North

Carolina’s Ovens Auditorium, which will wrap up the newly announced run of shows. He’ll then head to Nashville for a five-night residency at Ryman Auditorium, for which all the shows sold

out in under two hours. TRENDING STORIES While he’s on the road, Isbell and the 400 Unit will also be making a handful of network TV appearances, including _The Late Show with Stephen

Colbert_, _CBS Saturday Morning_, and his first-ever appearance on _The Daily Show with Trevor Noah_. _The Nashville Sound_ is the follow-up to 2015’s acclaimed _Something More Than Free_

and sees him reunited with that album’s producer, Grammy winner Dave Cobb. The full list of Jason Isbell and the 400 Unit’s 2017 tour dates: * May 4 – Springfield, MO @ The Gilloz Theatre *
