Infrastructure, Rajiv Kumar, Principal secretary Appointment and Deepak Singhal, Principal secretary Irrigation are facing corruption charges and also facing CBI probe. “This is probably for


the first time that officers facing court cases over corruption charges are holding key positions at a time,” BJP spokesman Vijay bahadur Pathak said.Bahadur and Saran are co-accused in


Noida plot allotment scam. As chairman and CEO of Noida Authority between 2005 and 2007 during SP's previous government when Mulayam Singh was Chief Minister, they allegedly allotted land to


hoteliers much below market rate, causing a loss of Rs 5,000-cr to the exchequer.During Mayawati’s tenure, when this scam came to light they were put under suspension. With return of


Samajwadi Party Government both of them got reinstated in Noida in western Uttar Pradesh. Their posting was challenged by Madhav Samaj Nirman Samiti and after Allahabad high court ordered


their removal and told the state government to post them out of west UP.Complying with the HC order, the government removed them in October last year, but about six months on they are back.


Saran has been made head of Industries department making him de facto head of Noida – from where he is removed.The court has ordered a CBI probe in this case.Rajiv Kumar, who is Principal


secretary appointment was convicted of Noida land scam in early 90s. He was awarded three years' imprisonment but his conviction was stayed by the high court. The case is still on.Deepak


Singhal Singhal, who heads irrigation department is facing charges of corruption when he was joint secretary in the Union fertilizers ministry in 2010. A CVC inquiry was ordered against him


for his controversial orders to import fertilizer. Later, the probe was handed over to the CBI.On the agency's report, he was repatriated to his home cadre prematurely. The inquiry is still


pending against him.
