At 500 kg, Egypt's Eman Ahmed is the world's heaviest woman who landed in Mumbai on Saturday, to undergo a weight reduction surgery that could save her life. Beginning Monday,

Ahmed was served only liquid supplements in the hope that she loses 50 kilos in the next 25 days. In other words, she must lose 2 kilos daily to become fit enough to undergo the surgery,

reports _Mid Day__._ For the first two days of her treatment regime, doctors at Saifee Hospital – where she's being treated – continued her diet of chicken, mutton and bread, so as not

to shock her body suddenly. But her diet will now be liquid supplements that are rich in protein, dairy and fibre, taken six or seven times a day in two hour intervals. The agenda is to meet

her to come down to Mumbai, said the weight loss is crucial for her to qualify for the bariatric surgery. > Owing to her obesity, she has been bedridden for more than two > decades. 

There is zero movement in some body parts. So, with the > help of physiotherapy, we will try to regain blood circulation in > those parts. The hospital has put together a team of

specialists who are dedicated to different aspects of her care. Dr Shashank Shah, head of the department of metabolic and bariatric and diabetic surgery at SL Raheja Hospital, said organs

like her kidney, liver and heart will be monitored closely. A philanthropist based in Mulund has also gifted a foldable bed for Ahmed's convenience, which is expected to arrive in five

days. Saifee Hospital had sent the bed to Cairo before her departure and it was supposed to arrive along with her on Saturday. Owing to space crunch, however, the bed could not be
