In keeping with the Centre’s big digital push, the Indian Railways have introduced Point of Sales machines (POS) at the Bhopal Railway station. Passengers can now use credit and debit cards
to purchase railway tickets directly from three POS-enabled counters that have been set up at the station. The move has been welcomed by customers who otherwise had to wait in ATM queues to
withdraw money for their commute. “It is a small step towards a larger goal,” Vandana Varma, a passenger told news agency ANI. Similar services have been introduced at the Allahabad Railway
station in Uttar Pradesh. The Railways now plans to introduce more such POS machines across its extensive network spread throughout the length and breadth of the country. VIDEO EDITOR:
