Earlier this year, Facebook added more than 50 gender options for its users. Now, Google Plus is following suit, allowing users to define their own genders, rather than choosing from a
dropdown list.
The Google Plus update will be released in the next few days, Engadget reports. You'll be able to type in a custom gender, and you "won't have to constantly explain yourself just because you
don't fit into the male/female binary."
Users will also be able to choose pronouns to describe their genders and to limit who sees what gender options they chose.
