The West Australian Bottles and rocks were thrown at police as they tried to break up a party in Safety Bay last night. A police spokeswoman said officers were called to a disturbance on

Warnbro Beach Road around 11.45pm. They found about 70 young people aged between 16 and 20 outside a home. Police say most of them were intoxicated. Several people threw bottles and rocks at

police. "It is alleged whilst police were arresting a youth a woman tried to intervene, jumping on an officer’s back," the police spokeswoman said. "She was restrained and

arrested." An 18-year-old Atwell woman will be summonsed on the charge of Assault a Public Officer. A 17-year-old Warnbro man will be summonsed on the charges of Damage, Obstruct Police

and Disorderly Behaviour. They will both appear in court at a later date. GET THE LATEST NEWS FROM THEWEST.COM.AU IN YOUR INBOX. Sign up for our emails
