A pedestrian was struck and killed by a vehicle on an Interstate 805 transition ramp near the University City area during the evening commute Thursday. It happened shortly before 6 p.m. on

the transition ramp from northbound I-805 to westbound state Route 52, California Highway Patrol Officer Tommy Doerr said. The pedestrian was pronounced dead at the scene, he said. The

driver remained at the scene and cooperated with officers, Doerr said. No details about the victim or the vehicle that struck the pedestrian were immediately available. CHP officers were
