_ Updated at 6:01 p.m. Aug. 22, 2016: _ Caltrans announced late Monday afternoon that a scheduled project that would have shut down two northbound and two southbound lanes tonight on state
Route 15 in the Mid-City area has been canceled. The closures, planned to allow crews to move temporary concrete barriers, had been slated to run from 7 this evening to 5 a.m. Tuesday. The
state transportation agency did not immediately disclose the reason for the cancellation or any revised schedule for the road work, which will allow for installation of bus lanes and
freeway-level transit stations along the freeway. The $65 million project is scheduled to be completed next year. _—City News Service_
