FLORENCE PUGH HAS OPENED UP ABOUT HER PAST STRUGGLES IN AN UPCOMING GENEALOGY SERIES 07:10, 14 Feb 2025 Florence Pugh admitted she 'wasn't supposed to live' following a grim
health prognosis, and shared the devastating news her parents received from medical professionals. The star of Oppenheimer and Midsommar is a guest on No Taste Like Home with Antoni
Porowski. The forthcoming show, with Gordon Ramsay at the helm as executive producer, blends cooking with family history, inviting celebrities to delve into their past through the lens of
cuisine alongside Queer Eye star Antoni. The programme's description states: "From Italy, Germany and the UK to Senegal, South Korea and Borneo, Antoni takes celebs on epic
journeys to explore their ancestral and culinary roots." In the debut episode, 'Florence Pugh's English Odyssey', the duo venture through Florence's old stomping
grounds in Oxford, then on to Yorkshire, Whitby, and London, retracing the steps of her ancestors. It was amidst their exploration of London that Florence disclosed a troubling chapter from
her early years. Previously, Antoni had enlightened Florence about her paternal lineage, revealing that her great, great, great grandparents had a daughter also named Florence Pugh, a fact
that astonished the actress as her family was unaware of this historical namesake. Yet, it was in St Pancras Gardens where Antoni delivered the sombre news that the young girl had passed
away at an early age, reports the Mirror. Article continues below "Because of the air quality and the pollution here, quality of life was really tough," Antoni said. "Little
Florence, unfortunately just shy of her fifth birthday, passed away. Most probably from tuberculosis, that was the case with most children in those times." "Oh no. Woah,"
Florence reacted, clearly distressed by the news. She then shared an eerie similarity between them. "Ok... so this is also just very strange because I had many struggles growing up with
my breathing and constantly being ill and going in and out of hospital," she disclosed. "I wasn't supposed to live. When I was born they told my parents that it wasn't
going to happen and just enjoy your time while you have it." The series, which also features stars such as actor Henry Golding, musician and actress Awkwafina, and Emmy-nominated Issa
Rae, will see all episodes available for streaming on Disney+ starting February 24. Additionally, the National Geographic Channel is set to air the first episode on February 26 at 10pm.
Antoni expressed his thoughts on the series, sharing: "It's a beautiful adventure to discover our past through the great connector that is food. I'm honoured to go on this
journey of self-discovery with new and old friends alongside National Geographic as we learn together about the ways different cultures celebrate food and experience their traditions."
