CASUALTY STAR OLLY RIX HAS OPENED UP ON HIS 'OVERWHELMINGLY BUSY' YEAR WORKING ON THE BBC MEDICAL DRAMA. TIANNA CORBIN TV Reporter 11:05, 29 May 2025Updated 11:06, 29 May 2025 Fans
of Call the Midwife were intrigued to see actor Olly Rix take on a fresh role after his departure from the period drama. He's now traded the lanes of Poplar for the fictional city of
Holby, joining Casualty as the new character Flynn Byron. The complex yet charismatic character has been well-received by viewers, who are particularly interested in the intricate
relationship he shares with his father-in-law, Russell Whitelaw (Robert Bathurst). With only two episodes remaining in the miniseries Casualty: Internal Affairs, speculation is rife about
what lies ahead for Flynn. Discussing his time on the BBC programme, it appears there's promising news for fans of Casualty. In an interview with Hello!, he revealed: "We've
been filming for a year, and you've only had ten episodes. We have 40 something in the bank now. So, Flynn's not going anywhere." Article continues belowREAD MORE: BBC's

40-year-old admitted it's been intense. Olly added: " It's been overwhelmingly busy. It's all-consuming. The set itself is quite extraordinary and such an immersive
experience. "Those two factors weave together perfectly. Really, I do feel as though I've spent the past year legitimately pretending to be a doctor, doing long shifts and
finishing with sore feet and an aching back. It's been quite the journey." Nonetheless, he commended the BBC show for its courage in addressing challenging themes and topics,
acknowledging that Casualty doesn't avoid difficult questions, reports the Express. Soap fans have recently been gripped by Flynn's troubling predicament following a shocking
revelation regarding his father-in-law. In an intense storyline twist, it emerged that his father-in-law had committed sexual assault against Rida Amaan (Sarah Seggari), plunging Flynn into
a profound ethical quandary. Yet, with the knowledge of Flynn's own infidelity, his father-in-law is holding his indiscretions over him, threatening to reveal all if Flynn decides to
come clean about the assault to Rida. Article continues below Discussing the delicate situation, Olly remarked to The Mirror: "They're not actively at war, they're not
fighting. He's saying, providing you don't do anything, I won't do anything. "Flynn has to choose to step into that fire and say 'I'm going to risk it all, or
he won't." _CASUALTY IS AVAILABLE TO WATCH ON BBC IPLAYER._
