WEATHER MAPS SHOW THAT HEAVY RAIN WILL CONTINUE TO BLIGHT THE COUNTRY THROUGHOUT THE WEEK, BUT THERE COULD BE SPELLS OF DRY WEATHER IN SOME PARTS 11:26, 16 Oct 2024 Over the past few days

most of Wales has been experiencing heavy downpours and it looks like more is to come over the next few days. A yellow weather warning issued by the Met Office has been in place since 6pm on

Tuesday, October 15, and covers nearly all of the country. Not only does it bring with it heavy rain and strong winds, but is in place for some 27 hours in total with up to 80mm of rainfall

hitting the country within hours in parts. You can read more about the warning here. While the warning comes to an end at 9pm, weather maps show that heavy rain will continue to blight the

16 11AM Around 11am most of Wales is experiencing rain. It is heaviest in parts of Wrexham and Flintshire, down through Powys, Carmarthenshire and Swansea, where there could be as much as

8-16mm/hour of rainfall in some parts. 2PM With the yellow weather warning now extended until 9pm, it does not look like the heavy rain is going to clear any time soon. At 2pm, most of Wales

will be experiencing rain. There could be as much as 4-8mm/hour, or even 8-16mm/hour, of rainfall in parts of Swansea and Carmarthenshire. 4PM There will be a band of heavy rain this

afternoon - with as much as 16-32mm/hour of rainfall from Merthyr Tydfil, up to Brecon and Builth Wells in Powys. Meanwhile, there could be as much as 2-4mm/hour of rainfall in areas such as

Carmarthen and Cardigan. 6PM By 6pm, there will be even more rain for large parts of Wales, with a band of heavy rain stretching from Flintshire, down across border towns such as Shrewsbury

and Ludlow over in England, and all the way down to Monmouth. Temperatures in most places could be around 15C-16C. 9PM There will be some break from the rain for some areas of Anglesey,

Gwynedd, Conwy, Ceredigion, Powys and areas of south east Wales. However, the rain will continue to fall in other parts, including large parts of Pembrokeshire, Swansea, Neath Port Talbot,

Rhondda Cynon Taf, Flintshire and Wrexham. 11PM By late evening, a band of rain will have shifted more inland, with clusters of heavy rain set to hit areas of Gwynedd and Anglesey, Powys and

Cardiff. THURSDAY, OCTOBER 17 3AM By 3am Thursday morning, the rain will have cleared for most of Wales, with the band of rain shifting towards north west of England. 9AM And it looks like

that dry spell is here to stay with only small patches of rain hitting areas such as Conwy, Powys and Rhondda Cynon Taf. Temperatures will be a little cooler however, between13C and 14C for

most parts, but could be around 11C-12C in other areas. 1PM In the afternoon, clusters of rain will fall in parts of Wales, in particular off the coast of south-west Anglesey, near

Porthmadog in Gwynedd, down in areas of Ceredigion and Powys, Carmarthenshire, Bridgend and Newport. 7PM The dry weather will remain for most of Wales throughout the afternoon and into the

evening. FRIDAY, OCTOBER 18 9AM While Thursday looks like an overall clear day for Wales, Friday could tell a very different story. At 9am, a band of heavy rain is threatening west

Wales' coastline. Most of Wales will remain clear at this point, however rain will be hitting areas of Pembrokeshire, with as much as 4-8mm/hour of rainfall in some parts. 1PM By Friday

afternoon, heavy rain will be hitting Cardiff, with around 2-4mm/hour and as much as 4-8mm/hour of rainfall in the Welsh capital. 7PM While most of Wales will be clear of rain at 7pm, rain

will still be affecting areas of west Wales, Anglesey, Gwynedd, Conwy, southern parts of Ceredigion and Pembrokeshire. Lighter rain will be affecting areas of Newport and Monmouthshire. 10PM

Patches of heavy rain will particularly affect areas of Powys and north Wales. There will be as much as 16-32mm/hour of rainfall in areas between Denbighshire and Flintshire, as well as

areas of Powys down to Ceredigion. SATURDAY, OCTOBER 19 7AM Early Saturday morning will see a clearance of the rain and it will remain mostly dry by 7am. 1PM There will be clusters of rain

in areas of Powys, Carmarthenshire, Ceredigion and Pembrokeshire by 1pm 10PM Most of Wales will be dry at this point. SUNDAY, OCTOBER 20 4AM However, it could be a different picture on

Sunday. By 4am, most of Wales will be covered by rain, and will be heaviest in large parts of south Wales - 4-8mm/hour of rainfall is predicted in areas of Pembrokeshire, Carmarthenshire and

Merthyr Tydfil. 7AM By 7am, small parts of Gwynedd and Ceredigion may have been cleared but in areas of Conwy, down to Powys, then, Pembrokeshire, Carmarthenshire and all along the south

east valleys there could be as much as 4-8mm/hour and 8-16mm/hour of rainfall. 1PM By the afternoon however, most of rain will have cleared with only a few patches here and there.
