THERE IS DISRUPTION FOR THOSE TRAVELLING ON THE BARRY AND BRIDGEND RAILWAY LINES 07:20, 29 May 2025Updated 09:25, 29 May 2025 Commuters faced disruption on Thursday morning as services on
two south Wales lines were "at a stand". Traffic monitoring system Inrix reports that Transport for Wales services on the Barry and Bridgend lines were stopped due to track safety
checks. Network Rail said that disruption is expected until 9.30am at the earliest. Services are affected between Bargoed / Rhymney / Cardiff Central and Barry Island, and also between
Cardiff Central and Bridgend. Network Rail added: "There is a points failure between Barry and Bridgend, closing the line running between these stations. As a result, trains may be
cancelled, delayed by up to 15 minutes or revised." Network Rail confirmed that the incident was cleared at 9.15am but some delays remain. Buses were organised to run between Barry and
Bridgend to assist customers to complete journeys where possible at no extra cost. These will be provided by Teulu Coaches. Article continues below People are being advised that road
transport will take longer than rail services. Please allow extra time to complete your journey. You may be entitled to compensation if you experienced a delay in completing your journey.
Network Rail advise passengers to keep your train ticket and make a note of your journey, as both will be required to support any claim. _Get daily breaking news updates on your phone by
