SUZANNA, WHO IS A TRAVEL VLOGGER, SHARED THE MEAL ONLINE AND COULDN'T BELIEVE THE COST OF IT. SHE SIMPLY HAD TO TELL EVERYONE ABOUT IT AS THE PRICE LEFT HER TOTALLY STUNNED 11:33, 31
May 2025 During her holiday, a woman was left astounded by the price tag on her fish and chips order. Suzanna, known for her travel vlogs, shared her astonishment online over the cost of her
meal. The TikTok user, who posts under suzannatravelsolo, relished the dish at her "favourite" dining establishment while vacationing in Egypt, setting the mood with a bottle of
Prosecco in her hotel room before heading out. She took her followers along to a cherished eatery in Luxor known as The Lantern Room Restaurant. Accompanied by a friend, Suzanna went to what
she considers the best English restaurant in the vicinity. She pointed out that it's tucked away on a side street in Luxor, a venue she frequents during her travels. The video tour
included a look at the menu where starters are priced around £2 each, with Suzanna confessing her preference for the garlic mushrooms. Main courses at the restaurant feature a variety of
classic options, but Suzanna chose the traditional fish, chips and mushy peas. She described the meal as nothing short of "beautiful." To top off her dining experience, Suzanna
enjoyed a cup of tea, and the total bill amounted to £8 per person. She coined it remarkable "unbelievable value for money." In response, a social media user expressed their envy,
commenting: "Aw, this would be my dream. I adore Egypt after my first visit. Loving your content." One enthusiastic traveller wrote: "What a lovely life you have Suzanna -
just tracking the world and having a great time. Love your content. Have a lovely time in Luxor and on the cruise." Article continues below A different user commented, expressing their
amazement at the affordability: "Looks yummy, so cheap." Meanwhile, someone else, seemingly yearning for a getaway themselves, said: "I wish I could get time off work."
Nestled in Upper Egypt, Luxor stands proudly on the eastern bank of the Nile River, boasting a vast array of historical treasures and ancient attractions. Serving as the governorate's
capital, Luxor draws a myriad of tourists keen to explore what has come to be recognised as the "world's greatest open-air museum", owing to the blend of ancient Egyptian
landmarks peppered throughout the bustling city. The wealth of unique experiences offered by Luxor keeps visitors coming back, and this is true not only for its archaeological marvels, but
also its contemporary offerings such as The Lantern Room Restaurant, which has attracted high praise on TripAdvisor. Garnering an impressive average rating of 4.7 out of 5, diners frequently
applaud the establishment for various aspects. One diner complimented the venue, sharing: "Great atmosphere and decor - friendly welcome, good choice of international and Egyptian
cuisine. All cooked in their restaurant to a high standard - highly recommend this resturant." Another shared their delightful dining experience, elaborating: "Small restaurant,
very friendly. Very friendly staff. And above all we eat very well... the Shish Tawook is excellent, as well as the lentil soup. The other dishes are just as tasty. All for a very reasonable
price." A third individual enthused: "This is a great little restaurant offering European and Egyptian food. They also do a good British Sunday roast, highly recommended, but best
to book. "I recommended it to guests staying at my hotel, and they were so impressed they went back three times during their stay - says it all really." Article continues below
Subsequently, one more added: "As always a welcoming ambience. The decor has changed the last few years which is really lovely. My family and I have been coming here over 20 years.
"Tonight I had fish and chips - a small portion, which was amazing. Just right to then have apple crumble and ice cream. Again the food is top notch. "The place and staff
couldn't be nicer. The prices are very good. For sure the best place in Luxor. Cannot wait to come back again."
