Born in Norway and based in Brooklyn, singer-songwriter Sondre Lerche grew up idolizing The Beach Boys and a-ha, and ultimately found a way to infuse his sound with the sweet and adventurous
pop of each. As he's developed as a songwriter — releasing five full-length albums, plus much of the soundtrack to the 2007 film _Dan in Real Life_ — Lerche has settled into a sound
that's grand, warmly romantic and decidedly timeless. Click the link above to hear him perform live in concert from WXPN and World Cafe Live in Philadelphia. Since the release of his
2001 debut, the orchestral pop disc _Faces Down_, Lerche has built a rabid following that's fanned out from his homeland; he won a Norwegian Grammy for _Faces Down_, and has been
picking up fans around the world ever since. Mixing studio finesse with off-the-cuff playfulness, his new album _Heartbeat Radio_ just came out. Copyright 2009 XPN
