The air ambulance was called to an area of woodland in Durham after a person suffered injuries as a result of a fall. Just after 11.15am today, both the North East Ambulance Service and the
Great North Air Ambulance Service were informed of the incident, in the Pity Me area, near Framwellgate Moor. NEAS sent one ambulance crew, two Hazardous Area Response Team and a clinical
team leader, while the critical care team from air ambulance, with a paramedic and doctor on board the aircraft, also attended. After being cared for at the scene, the patient was then taken
to the University Hospital of North Durham by road for further treatment. A North East Ambulance Service spokesperson said: "We were called to reports of a person injured following a
fall in the woods in the Pity Me area of Durham at 11.16am this morning (22 May). "We dispatched one ambulance crew, two crews from our Hazardous Area Response Team and a clinical team
leader, and requested support from our colleagues at Great North Air Ambulance Service. The patient was transported to University Hospital North Durham by road." A Great North Air
Ambulance Service spokesperson added: "Our critical care team was activated at 11.23am to reports of a fall near Framwellgate Moor, Durham. We had a paramedic and doctor on board our
